Jiangxi man Yang, who criticized the Communist government of China on Weibo & Twitter, arrested in Mar 2020 and prosecuted in Oct, despite the fact that judicial authentication found him mentally unstable. The procuratorate sought a 20 months sentence for him.

2018年6月,江西省宁都县男子刘某,因在其运营的微信公众号发布了文章《拆老宅,拆不出一个社会主义》,内容为指控当地政府强拆并描述了受害者哭喊的惨状,导致被行政拘留10日。警方称该文章“内容虚假,恶意抨击党委和政府”,警方还发现该公众号过去也发布过一些“敏感、虚假和负面”的信息。
